I have trod on grassy flats high abroad majestic mountains,

from which I have watched mountain goats play.

I have walked alongside of rushing mountain streams,

whose mighty purging waters were the only

sound heard for miles.

I have made my camp next to hidden lakes so high in

altitude they rose abreast with the clouds.

I have gazed at powerful eagles soaring upward

on warm columns of gently rising air.

I have pressed my body beyond its limit time and

time again.  I have searched out and found

God in a new way; and I have heard

his still and quiet voice in the wind,

and listened.

------

I have learned that it is the innermost depths of a

man from which the will to go on is born, and yet

it is only by Christ's strength that we may even face,

day by day, life's pursuant challenges.

And as the joy of sustaining victory encompasses

our every attention we stop,

reflect,

and praise...

for our God has delivered us

once again!

The promise held inside the wonder of a

rainbow means something new to me.

The setting of the sun I no longer overlook.

The whisper of thunder heard a hundred miles away,

now seems so precious, and I even find myself

missing the twilight that appears just before dawn.

There were so many things my eyes saw and

my heart felt that I now consistently find myself

on my knees...worshiping the most unique, imaginative

and perfect One who holds treasures far greater

than these for all his children. Truly, thanks be to

God!  And as the Psalmist declares, “Praise the Lord, O my

soul, all my inmost being,  praise his holy name.”
